Mathijs Kok of Aerosoft has shared a brief status update concerning the Airbus A330 Professional for Prepar3D V4. Perhaps most important, according to Mathijs, “…the not yet announced project is coming to an end soon and then all modeling resources will be back on the A330 [project]….”
Moreover, in regards to the Connected Flight Deck, Mathijs comments, “…the Connected Flight Deck is pretty stable, our decision to go with a server in between has proven to be perfect, we have no performance issues….” As such, “…that part of the new [project] is nearly done.”
With respect to the EFB, this item is currently under development. Planned features include checklists, flows + documents, georeferenced charts, and performance data calculations. Additionally, Mathijs notes, “as partners of PMDG we’ll also include their GFO system.” Keep in mind, the EFB will be included as part of the virtual cockpit as well as a separate 2D panel usable on any device.
Regarding CPDLC (Controller-Pilot Data Link Communications), Aerosoft has decided to wait. The existing online flying organizations (VATSIM, IVAO, and POSCON) are currently unable to provide a stable server and suitable SDK.
Lastly, in relation to a possible release timeline, Mathijs explains that the schedule is determined by “…modeling/shading/texturing and animation[s] and […] that will be restarted soon.”
