Developer IndiaFoxtEcho has posted a relatively brief status update in regard to the Aermacchi M-346 for Prepar3D V4 (and perhaps other platforms at a later date). You may recall, the project was first announced back in March of this year. Anyway, please see below for the applicable section according to the developer.
So, I am taking a small break from the TA-4J and started doing some work on the M-346. For those who don’t know this plane (very few within my followers I presume) it is an advanced trainer developed by Aermacchi/Leonardo on the basis of the Yak-130. The M-346 is arguably the most advanced trainer in the market as we speak, and it is being flown by Italian, Israeli, Polish and Singaporean Air Forces. Italy operates it in the International Flying School at Lecce-Galatina where it is also used to train pilots of other countries.
I’ve reached an agreement with developer SixGhost to continue his work, and the project looks very nice so far. With my current schedule, I hope it will be flyable at the beginning of 2020. Leading development platform, for the moment, is Lockheed Martin P3Dv4.5 – but the model is being built to be (relatively) easy to port to other platforms.
Moreover, as part of the same post, IndiaFoxtEcho notes that the TA-4J beta program is “progressing quite well.”
