Orbx TrueEarth Ireland + Northern Ireland, New Information

John Venema of Orbx has provided a brief status update and some new information concerning TrueEarth Ireland + Northern Ireland.

First, regarding Northern Ireland, the required ortho imagery is now complete and en route to Orbx.  Apparently, a significant portion of Northern Ireland is going to be included as part of the upcoming TrueEarth Great Britain North region.  Moreover, the remainder of Northern Ireland and the entire Republic of Ireland are to be combined into a single region package.

Next, specifically with respect to ortho imagery for the Republic, John explains, “Our provider is nearly finished with flying the imagery zones with their aircraft and we are waiting on them to supply us.  It could be March, it could be June – we don’t know.”

Keep in mind, TrueEarth regions for both Great Britain and Ireland are generally expected first for X-Plane 11, then Aerofly FS2, and finally Prepar3D V4.

Please note, the below screenshot is for reference purposes only and illustrates the existing EU Ireland region.

On a related note, back in November, we also reported some new information regarding OpenLC Africa and AU Australia V2.
