Skyline Cincinnati Terminal 2 Preview + Retro Features

Skyline Simulations has posted several previews with regards to the developers upcoming KCVG, Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky International Airport scenery for X-Plane 11.  The preview images showcase the now closed Terminal 2 and provide a look into the retro features planned for release.  As I understand, the scenery will offer users the option to select between the current airport configuration as well as an older retro configuration.  In fact, earlier this month, Skyline noted that although Terminal 1 is now utilized for cargo operations, an older historical passenger variant would be included as a scenery option, see our post from June 5, 2018 to review.

Personally, I love the concept of both a current and historical airport configuration option!  I’m a massive fan of almost all things retro.

In addition to the preview images, the developer offers some historical information regarding Terminal 2 at KCVG, Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky International Airport.

Cramped and outdated, KCVG’s Terminal 2 saw use until it’s closure in 2012. In it’s prime, Terminal 2 served many airlines including American and United, as well as international carriers like Lufthansa. Arguably one of the most unique terminal structures that’s served air travel, Terminal 2 is brought to you with a stunning array of ground clutter, specific to American Airlines and their regional carrier PSA. Included below is a shot of Terminal 2’s interior – A relic of KCVG dating back to before the construction of Terminal 3 and Concourses A, B, and C.

This is certainly turning out to be a very interesting project, stay tuned for more details!
